I am often alone but never lonely,
I feel that solitude becomes me.
Time away from the hectic whirl
That forever encroaches upon this world,
Is good for me, good for the mind
Of the writer, poet, creative kind.
And so it is anon and anew,
In solitude
I write these words for you.

    • Hi Natasa,

Imposed solitude isn’t a good thing but when it’s a choice it can be wonderful for the creative mind.

      Nice to meet you. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I agree, Sumana. I’m lucky to have found a lovely place to write when I’m not working lol, another necessary distraction.

  1. don’t we writers just covet the peace of our solitude~ it scares me a bit sometimes how completely alone I can be for such lengths of time and still be perfectly content~

    • Yes aka_andrea. Some people just can’t understand how I can be happy alone. At least I know there’s one person who likes my company. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Thank you Sherri B. ๐Ÿ™‚

I used to think be being an introvert was some kind of mark against me, but now I realise it’s just a different state of being.

    • Thank you, Sherry. The only thing a writer can ask is that other people read their words; thank you. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Solitude and being comfortable with the silence is often mentioned as a sign of a good relationship. Feeling comfortable within a chosen solitude results in the same I think. Too often we feel that there is nothing happening unless we are within the throngs and noise of daily living.
